your prescence is my life, lingers just beneath the surface of my being. In the still quiet, when I catch my breath, I can feel you exhaling a thousand miles away.
your existence never more palpable than in the thin hours of midnight when your abscence beats against my heart, the rattling a low moan of yearning for that which once was, and then once was again, and then went away- far away- crawling off into the woods, to die alone, like a wounded deer.
You can start over, you can grow brighter, you can push harder, you can think nicer, dream higher, sleep longer, wish better, lick softer, feel lighter, kiss prettier, love younger, hold tighter, but you will never exist deeper.
