into the fade~

It is so surreal to me, that someone that I once loved, once yearned for, someone that I craved, ached, quivered, shivered, pined over, someone that I got down on my knees for, someone that I cried over, night after heart breaking night,

in the retreat and distance of time ( years, so many years) gone by, of memories resurected and buried, and finally surrendered , into the cruel grey abyss of the indifferent,

becomes just a stranger... again. just another ghost in the hallowed halls of my once upon a time~ lovers.

lovers who end,

into the fade.

and leave me

with the heartbeat lullaby of a shining memory.
