I watch you from afar. The pale light of heaven sits behind my shoulders, and the stars are the jeweled halo set against the blue swept sky. I am your silk covered bride, and you see through me, into the night and shiver as if someone is watching you. "Open your eyes", I whisper, as the wind of my breath rustles through you and a chill sets in. Your bones shake and the windows rattle. oh, The kiss of a ghost settles soft and low.

You walk across the room, you smell snow in the air, and close the sheer silver curtains in your little boy blue, world. A hundred years from now, it will not matter, but tonight it matters so. The flames lick at my ankles, the ice filling my veins is about to melt away. This possession can not be undone,and my obsession will not lesson. I really have no choice, except to bid you adieu, to bid you adieu. Somehow, all of this is about to become the undoing of me.

Will you buy me pink roses? Will you toss them like pennies into the fierce green sea? I will warm your grave, with devotion, I will cradle you, softly from here. Rock you to sleep when you are too tired to dream and send swift angels to keep you safe. I will teach the clouds to giftwrap the night with stars for you, lighting the way back to me, back to us, once again.

The stroke of an uncertain midnight hovers in the air. We are all so vulnerable, like paper chain necklaces. One moment we exist. and in the next one, with the wrong tick of a fated clock, we can disappear. I have slow drowned inside you, for far too long. The tides are strong, and I am weak.

But for you, I can be stronger. I can hold tighter, can fight longer. and even if I go away.my love. I am never really gone. You will not forget me. You will not let me disappear completely. and so here is where I sit. perched in the pale light of what used to be and then what once was- again. I am giving birth , I am pushing our warm beating life into the cold silk night and offering the best of us like a newborn white lily to the tempermental sun.
