You dipped in the glaze of my kiss, in the hollow of my neck, in the mist of my ivoried skin, drinking the glycerine of a much to warm summer night, the linger of candles, on the edges of every windowsill, the splash of the bathwater falling onto marble floors, the world outside so far away, a new world inside on it's beautiful way,
the folding and unfolding of this lush memory. every night., when I close my eyes.
wearing it out,
smoothing the threadbare edges,
but tearing the worn corners. every time I do.
every time I remember you, I lose another piece.
every time I remember you. I have to invent another moment.
before I lose us to the great distance of time. and space. but oh the beauty, the aching breaking beauty
of your imagined tearstained face.
