Today is Sierra's birthday, one year ago, the light of my world, was born into my arms, and I have yet to let go of the bliss.
She is my poetry, my love letter finally answered.
In honour of Sierra's birthday, I bought her a flowering fruit tree, tumbling with pink and white buds. I associate Sierra's arival, with the coming of spring, because when I was newly pregnant, I planted many tulipbulbs, and kept telling myself, that the baby would arrive, when the tulips were in bloom.
well, the day I came home from the hospital, with Sierra, all of the flowers had come alive, the frontyard was bursting with daffodils and tulips and crocuses.
like ringing bells.
announcing the arrival of the newest blossom.
so, sierra will always remind me of springtime, of colours and newness.
She is everything to me.
the other night we had chinese, and my fortune cookie said,
" we are very happy togther"
and all i could do, was agree.
Happy birthday, my little cherry blossom!
