Sierra turns 4 in a few weeks, and it is astounding to me, to comprehend this fully. It was easier, to think of her still, "as my baby" while she was 3, but she really is a full on, pre- schooler.
I love observing her, in some ways she is fearless and bold and confident, and i admire that about her, and wish that i was more like her. She runs right up to other children, that she has never met before and introduces herself, and usually starts playing with them.
She also has a deeply compassionate side, and is very much a caretaker, this part she does get from me. She is the first one to intervene, and help out another child, and comfort them, or bring them to an adult if they are hurt or afraid.
I am always proud to be her mother, she is also quite a hilarious child, who can be a droll observer or an animated participant. she makes an impression on everyone, and I often hear the phrase, " she's a little firecracker, that one "
She has been taking an African Drumming class, and loves it !
she recently performed a little song and dance, on stage, for her little school, and could not have been prouder
and everyday i am proud to be her mother, and call her "daughter", but more than that, she has become my very best friend.
